About Desination Asian

It started with a talk about hair.

My friend had just gotten a fabulous cut from a new stylist, who was Korean like us. But my friend – and her stylist – lived in Newport News, and I lived nearly 200 miles away in Washington, DC.

Destination Asian emerged from my resulting pursuit of a Korean stylist, along with my frustrating attempt to find and support other Asian-owned businesses.

I created Destination Asian to be a central directory that represents all Asian ethnicities. It is the only place you can find commercial, social, cultural, religious and charitable resources for the entire Asian community in the Washington area.

Whether you want a jar of tumeric at the nearest Indian grocer, a Chinese Baptist church in your neighborhood or a Korean real estate agent to help you find that first home, you’ll find your options here.

Destination Asian is also a community-driven site: Don’t see your Vietnamese mechanic or your Filipino internist listed? Tell me about them. Better yet, send them over to the site so they can post their business – for free.
